Daily or Weekly Scripture Readings
Lectionary readings provide a disciplined way to read through the Bible.
There are two lectionaries used by Presbyterians. One is offered for daily use and is divided into a two-year cycle. The other lectionary is from the Revised Common Lectionary, a lectionary for Sundays and festivals. It is divided into a three-year cycle referred to as Years A, B, and C. Swarthmore Presbyterian Church's preaching is generally based on this three-year lectionary cycle.
Both lectionaries may be easily viewed, with full scripture quotations from the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible, on the Presbyterian Church (USA) website in the Lectionary section. Here you may also sign up to receive daily emails of the lectionary readings.
